What does "Assisted" mean?
When you are lying down and relaxed, the stretch practitioner helps move your limbs to release tension from different muscle groups that can be challenging to achieve the stretch on your own.
Can anyone do assisted stretching?
Absolutely! We can help anyone of all ages. We help people who are recovering from injury, people with limitations who can't stretch on their own, as well as athletes who want to improve their range of motion. But you don't have to be in pain to enjoy the benefits of assisted stretching! Assisted stretching is relaxing and is like receiving the benefits of a massage but with an added whole-body stretch.
How long are the Loft & Stretch Assisted Stretching sessions?
We offer both a 30-minute and 60-minute Assisted Stretch options.
Our 30-minute sessions are great for targeting specific areas and our
60 minute sessions are great for deeper relaxation and experiencing more muscle groups for a better overall stretch. We also use a Therapeutic Massage Device in addition to our assisted stretch to better release any tight areas of the body.
What makes the Loft & Stretch Assisted Stretching different from other places that offer a similar service?
In most places, you are being stretched in a big open forum with many people present in the same room. At the Pilates Yoga Loft, we specialize in personalized private Assisted Stretching sessions. We also provide a spa-like feel to our sessions as we add aromatherapy, soothing music, dim lighting, and a more personalized touch.
What do I wear to a Loft & Stretch Assisted Stretching Session?
Wearing socks is required and comfortable, moveable clothing. Pants & t shirts are encouraged. Please refrain from wearing dresses or shorts.
